We had a great time interviewing Josh Tolley for Schoolhouse Rocked: The Homeschool Revolution. One of the themes that has been repeated often in our interviews for the movie is that homeschooling gives families the opportunity to create healthy family businesses, and that Involving your children in the business and family economy grounds their education in real-life principals. Josh’s message of entrepreneurship serves homeschooling families well, and Josh and his Purple Monkey Garage mechanics are out on the road helping families to put this idea into practice, by “fixing businesses, repairing lives”, through his book EVANGELPRENEUR and the great training from Purple Monkey University.
Mentoring Monday, Holiday Edition! Let’s talk about how this season is going so far!
On our recent visit to Mount Airy, North Carolina (Mayberry – home of Andy Griffith!) Durenda Wilson, author of The Unhurried Homeschooler, invited Yvette to join her for a really fun Mentoring Monday Facebook Live event.
Yvette sits down for a Facebook Live with Durenda Wilson, author of The Unhurried Homeschooler. We had a great time interviewing Durenda and her husband Darryl for Schoolhouse Rocked, at their awesome Airbnb in Mayberry! When I posted the original video it was rotated 90 degrees. Here it is in an actual, watchable (but still extremely overcompressed) format!
Yvette talks with Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations at their headquarters in Southern Pines, North Carolina. CC is about to celebrate their 20th anniversary! They offer a fantastic program and curriculum for homeschooling families. From their website, “Classical Conversations supports homeschooling parents by cultivating the love of learning through a Christian worldview in fellowship with other families. We believe there are three keys to a great education: classical, Christian, and Community.” Learn more at https://www.classicalconversations.com.
Yvette Hampton interviews Danielle Papageorgiou live at the Wings Lifeschooling Conference in Matthews, North Carolina.
Danielle is a homeschooling mom, who organizes the Lifeschooling conference to encourage homeschoolers to integrate real life into their homeschooling. This conference is a great encouragement to homeschooling families who are training up their kids for success in the real world, while avoiding the pitfalls of doing “school at home”.
Yvette Hampton interviews homeschoolers John and Jennifer Robinson at a Cracker Barrel in Huntsville, Alabama. We met the Robinson family at the Wings Lifeschooling Conference in Matthews, North Carolina and they told us not to miss Rhea Perry’s Educating for Success Home Business Conference, which was just a month away. They had been to previous conferences and couldn’t say enough good things about them. We had a great time hanging out with this wonderful family and were happy to meet for breakfast the morning after the conference to talk about what we learned.
