Former West High School coach accused of sexual battery arrested in Sevier County
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — “Police arrested a former West High School coach accused of sexual battery on Friday night.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, 57-year-old Richard Shaver was indicted by a grand jury for four counts of sexual battery as an authority figure and two counts of attempted sexual battery as an authority figure.
The search and arrest comes amid investigations into multiple West High School coaches.
Earlier this month, West High assistant football coach Chad Brooks was indicted by a grand jury on multiple counts of aggravated statutory rape.
Head football coach Lamar Brown was also placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.” Read the full story here.
