North Carolina “teacher of the year” arrested on multiple child porn charges

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — “A current ‘teacher of the year’ remains in jail for multiple child porn counts after a raid Monday morning.
Jesse Cassino, of Elizabeth City, was charged with five counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor after a search of his home on Chalk Street.
Warrants say police found several videos showing youngsters between the ages of 11 and 14 engaged in sexual acts.”
“Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools Associate Superintendent Rachael Haines says Cassino is suspended pending an investigation.
A social media post congratulated Cassino for being named the teacher of the year at the high school for the 2025-26 school year.” - WITN
