Oregon School employee sentenced to 18 months in prison for raping student
LINCOLN CITY, Or. — “A former school employee in Oregon has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for raping a 16-year-old student. Angela Schafer worked as a former health services advocate at Taft 7-12 Middle & High School in Lincoln City.
Lincoln County Circuit Court Presiding Judge Sheryl Bachart handed down the sentence on Tuesday, following Schafer's guilty plea to one count of third-degree rape and one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.”
“Schafer was employed by the Lincoln County School District in 2022 as a Health Services Advocate serving at Taft High School, Lincoln City, Oregon. In September 2024, Lincoln City Police Department (LCPD) initiated an investigation after allegations surfaced regarding an inappropriate relationship between Schafer and a student earlier that year. After an extensive investigation by Detective Bud Lane (LCPD), Schafer was officially indicted by the Lincoln County Grand Jury in November 2024.
On June 24, 2025, Schafer entered a guilty plea to one count of Rape in the Third Degree for knowingly engaging in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of sixteen and one count of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.” ~ Lincoln City Police Department Facebook Page
