Tennessee gym teacher sentenced in student assault cases
MARYVILLE, Tn. — “Joseph Dalton, the former Blount County Schools gym teacher who pleaded guilty to touching elementary school students, was sentenced Wednesday.
He’ll serve six months of supervised probation for the five assault charges levied against him, court officials confirmed Wednesday.”
Joseph Dalton pleaded guilty to assault following his arrest in January.
“In a county commission meeting Thursday night, Blount County leaders said they are now hearing that complaints surrounding Daltons alleged sexual misconduct began in 2005.
The investigation into Dalton included several reports and surveillance footage of students forcibly trying to remove themselves from Dalton after the former gym teacher inappropriately touched and even tickled students, according to the district attorney’s office.”
