Tennessee elementary school teacher arrested for physically assaulting special education student

CINCINNATI, Oh. — Holly Condra, an elementary school teacher at Griffith Elementary School in Sequatchie County, Tennessee “has been arrested after physically assaulting a student. On August 19, 2025, deputies with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) were made aware of a student who was assaulted at Griffith Elementary School.
The SCSO said upon further investigation, it was determined that teacher Holly Condra physically assaulted a student with her hand. No reports indicated the student required medical attention. After conducting interviews and gathering video surveillance footage, a warrant was obtained charging Condra with Assault.” - WDEF
Sequatchie County Sheriff Bill Phillips said “After some investigation, it was determined that one of the teachers had assaulted a 9 year old special ed student in the classroom."
“An announcement sent to parents of Griffith Elementary Students by Director of Schools Sarai Pierce says Condra has been fired. The message says in part...
"We believe this was a one-time, isolated occurrence. Even so, we expect employees to show the greatest respect to all students all the time... Please know that we take this situation very seriously. Our focus is on the safety of our students, which means our top priority. 'If we can't trust you, you can't work here.'" - MSN
