“I want you to know, the time that you invest is oh so worth it. Those days when you feel like you’re a failure, those days when you feel like you’re going to ruin your child, you just keep showing up. Motherhood is the ministry of showing up. Show up moms. Show up every day. Be patient. Be diligent. Be faithful. God will reward you when you do not grow weary and quit. It’s always too soon to quit! The cool thing is, you can finish this race well. You can finish this race with kids who actually like you. You can finish this race with a family that’s intact. You can finish this race with kids who are able to stand strong in this world, that can take their place in the marketplace, that can function well in society, that can love the Lord and really make a difference in this world. And you have that opportunity when you choose to homeschool. And you just keep pressing on, and you keep leaning in to the Lord when those days are super hard. You can do it! I know you can!” – Connie Albers

We had the great pleasure of interviewing Sarah Mackenzie, author of Teaching From Rest, at the Southeast Homeschool Convention in Greenville, South Carolina.
Thank you Connie Albers and Colleen Kessler for a fun night! We stayed up late interviewing these brilliant leaders in the homeschooling community. These ladies are so generous in their support of homeschooling. It was a great pleasure to watch them pour into peoples’ lives at their booths and in their sessions. You will be blessed by their contributions to Schoolhouse Rocked.
Thanks to Great Homeschool Conventions for putting on a great convention. Every Homeschool family should attend a convention this year. It is a great way to be encouraged and to get equipped. Our first homeschool convention was life-changing, and we have been to many since.
In December, we travelled to Washington to meet Scott LaPierre. He is the Pastor of Woodland Christian Church and the author of a great book on marriage, Marriage God’s Way. God’s power was on display in how we met him and his family, and he provided so well on our trip. On our way to Washington we did not know how many families we would get to interview, or if the trip would be worth the time and cost, but in the end, we interviewed several great families who each had a unique perspective to add to the movie. We also got some great street interviews in Portland. In the end, it turned out to be a great trip, and we know you will be encouraged by the stories of these families.
